What do elves do anyway?

Elves can help you find your way. Good ideas come in small packages. Elves can be mischievous, a little impish and good fun.

And they are benevolent in nature. They engage in a wide variety of activities. Santa’s helpers. Shoemakers’ apprentices. Wall Street prognosticators, to name a few.

They double as leprechauns for St. Patrick’s Day and often dress in green. Our frugal elf is very thrifty, thus more of a Scottish version. Elves are enigmatic little helpers that kind of scurry around behind the scenes and, without any fanfare, get things done while others are still wondering what to do!

Their impish nature leads them to be a bit irreverent and whimsical in nature. They are always looking for small and sometimes contrary, off the wall ways to solve life’s little problems. They deal with useful stuff….no rocket science or academia here. They are just looking for something nice to do. And they keep it simple and easy. The only compensation they need are your smiles and thank yous.

So what can an Elf do for you?

The mission of this site is to keep an elves eye out for helpful hints, useful ideas and things that usually aren’t made and sold for a profit. This site is intended to be fun, simple and useful. It is to be transparent, respectful and inclusive. We use most of our proceeds after site costs for charitable causes. Particularly seniors, veterans and abuse victims.

So what we do is publish Little Green Booklets in which we capture the core/essence of a problem or issue and offer simple, easy ways to successfully deal with it. Our little green booklets can be from 3-25 pages; short enough to read while in a waiting mode or watching TV after dinner, and to go back to as a mini reference manual if there is something to act on.  (Elves do not get paid by the word and they have to get on to other things you know.) We also welcome your questions & comments so that we can continue to improve and update our information. Many of the booklets are free of charge, although small token donations would be most welcome of course. Some are offered for a small charge.

How it works.

Our topics are listed individually in our booklet catalog. Click on the link and you will be directed to a brief summary and explanation of the booklet. You can then click on the read more button and view a more detailed overview. Then if you would like to get the booklet go to the order form. There you simply enter your handle and your email information and if a charge is involved the payment information. …and press continue. You will immediately receive a "Thanks for your order" note and instructions for immediately downloading your selection as a printable PDF file.

Simple and easy. No waiting for the mail.  No shipping and handling charges. The elves’ library is always open and they deliver quicker than the pizza place down the street!

You too can be an elf!

If you have some brainstorm or useful idea let us know. Lots of times there’s a good idea out there that just isn’t economically or practically feasible. If it makes sense to the elf editorial board  perhaps we can add it to our collection. See our submissions welcome page for details.
